From high-profile events like the Met Gala , where celebrities donned striking latex gloves, to the everyday fashionista embracing various latex clothing trends, 2023 showcased the widespread acceptance and adoption of latex attire. The allure of natural latex clothing, known for its exceptional elasticity and comfort, particularly in warm climates, played a significant role in the surge of popularity. This surge was not only a fashion statement but also reflected a shift towards sustainable choices, as latex, being a natural material, gained preference over leather in some circles

January
The year started as it meant to carry on, with Indian actress Urvashi Rautela wearing a red latex dress and British TV presenter Carol Vorderman oozing elegance , both wearing latex dresses from Atsuko Kudo . Ukranian brand ANOESES further extended their LTX.1 range with a palette of pinks AND opening their Kyiv Showroom . We saw Kendall Jenner repping the latex glove trend and Latex Couture launched the first of their weekly Monday drops of new shiny products . Singer Rita Ora wowed us wearing a translucent latex dress from one of the stand out brands of the year, AVELLANO .

February
The second month of the year was just as full of latex joy as the first month was, partly in thanks to the Brit Awards where we were treated to not one but three latex filled moments; thanks to Sam Smith wearing THAT outfit from designer Harri , the stunning Munroe Bergdorf in Atsuko Kudo and both Atsuko and Elissa Poppy taking centre stage during one of the many performances. We sadly said goodbye to Yummy Gummy as the brand shut its doors as owner Rebecca Allsop ventured to pastures new, streamer and presenter Elz looked incredible on the red carpet and Harri, not happy with one mention in February, launched his new collection at London Fashion Week . The latex accessory trend took another step into the limelight as gloves from Elissa Poppy were featured on the front cover of The Sunday Times Style Magazine . February also signified the launch of The Shiny Sofa , the longest running podcast dedicated to latex clothing, brands and news.

March
The year of latex fashion continued unabated in March as French designer AVELLANO stormed Paris Fashion Week and launched their new AW23 collection . Khloe Kardashian continued the influence of red latex throughout the year as did singer and presenter Tallia Storm at the premiere of Shazam! . Comic Relief ushered in the first of two appearances by AJ Odudu in the shiny stuff , rocking the red latex, alongside Kendall Jenner for Messia Jewellery .

April
April saw musician Beverley Knight oozing confidence in a full-length black latex gown from Atsuko Kudo as she attended the Olivier Awards, the Kardashain/Jenner clan was represented by Kylie Jenner in an exquisite latex corset and Rachel McAdams proved the versatility of latex clothing as she wore a pair of latex knickers from Vex Clothing . Actress, and latex fashion regular, Kate Beckinsale looked at home as always wearing Jane Doe on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Amanda Holden gave us the first of many latex appearances wearing a dress from William Wilde .

May
The fifth month of the year added further gravitas to the latex glove trend of 2023, as celebrities including Quannah Chasinghorse and Kylie Jenner, wore them to the Met Gala . Singer Paloma Faith showed the world how wonderful latex can be as she wore Atsuko Kudo for King Charles’ Coronation Concert , Katy Perry looked “Incredible” as Elastigirl wearing a custom Vex design on American Idol and Netherlands based brand Liquid Disco Latex launched their innovate and unique Cyberpunk themed SYZYGY collection . With awards season well underway, the Cannes Film Festival was awash with latex garments including Mia Regan , Shruti Haasan , Cindy Bruna and Ophélie Guillermand , Natasha Poonawalla , Ruby O.Fee, Isabeli Fontana and Eva Herzigova . Phew! TV Presenter Amanda Holden was back on our screens, this time wearing a stunning latex outfit on Britain’s Got Talent.

June
Not even being half way through 2023 could stop the explosive growth of latex clothing as TV pundit and former professional footballer Alex Scott was spotted wearing a YSL latex dress to present this years Soccer Aid from Wembley , Kylie Jenner romped around in an all-white latex bodysuit and actress Richa Moorjani wore the CL Dress from Vex Latex to ‘The Flash’ Premiere (in red, of course). Actress Jessica Alexander appeared in DSCENE magazine wearing Atsuko Kudo and Honour Clothing launched their new limited edition Pink & Black range .

July
July started with a bang as Parisian designer Arthur Avellano won the highly prestigious ANDAM fashion award , the first time the award has been credited to a brand which works so closely with latex. Vex collaborated with Thom Browne to create his new couture collection and the new Alaïa RTW collection was launches with a wealth of latex garments (and that was just the first week). In the second half of the month, the Barbiecore trend took hold and we were treated to a sea of pink latex from celebs including Munroe Bergdorf and GK Barry at the London premiere of the Barbie movie. We presented our indispensable latex Barbiecore style guide and featured photographer Framework Filth as she tried latex for the first time (spoiler – she loved it!). Model Kylie Vonnahme looked totally on point proving how a simple latex dress is all you need as she was spotted wearing Elissa Poppy latex and Italian designer FBLD Latex took centre stage with costumes at the Radio Norba live event . August
New collection launches continued in the second half of 2023 as Anoeses dropped their new LTX.2 latex range , further expanding their existing LTX.1 collection with new designs. Singer Kesha clearly took inspiration from Avellano as she appeared in her latest music video wearing a transparent latex dress and Australian rapper, singer and songwriter Iggy Azalea stunned combining latex garments from both Atsuko Kudo and BUSTED during a performance in Saudi Arabia .

September
You go for months without new latex ranges being launched and then suddenly you get multiple two months in a row! In September Anoeses dropped their new LTX.2 latex range , Skin Two Clothing launched an entire collection just for the boys and William Wilde revamped a number of their timeless classic pieces in the Phoenix collection . FBLD Latex expanded their range with a new collection and website re-launch and MaggieDelena unveiled her sensational Autumn 2023 garments . Model Bella Hadid looked on Cloud 9 wearing Elissa Poppy and Daiki Koga proved that latex is just as much for the boys in Attitude mag . The growth of latex accessories continued as Lüllepop Latex Couture launched an exciting new range of latex earrings and Keke Palmer was on-trend in a red D&G latex dress .

October
As the year drew to a close the launches continued! Liquid Disco revealed their most innovate collection to date, CYB3RLUV . Harri launched his Spring-Summer 2024 collection and AVELLANO showed off their Ready-to-Wear Spring 2024 range . Latex24/7 favourite Amentium launched an improved shopping experience on their website , AJ Odudu was back in the shiny for the launch of Big Brother and in Gay Times Magazine . Amanda Holden continued the Barbiecore trend at The Attitude Awards and Married at First Sight Start Ella Morgan stunned wearing Honour . Luis De Javier collaborated with MM Latex and BUSTED for his Spring 2024 Collection and it wouldn’t be October without latex Halloween outfits from Hailey Bieber , Chloe Bailey and Jess Glynne .

November
Latex fashion went from strength-to-strength in November as presenter and singer Tallia Storm was back in Latex Couture , singer Raye dazzled in Atsuko Kudo at the British GQ Mens Awards and Zara Larsson was not to be outdone at the BAMBI Awards . Dune and Wonka Actor Timothée Chalamet was spotted in AVELLANO latex in Japan , musician Nicki Nicole was on the red carpet wearing a red latex set at the Latin Grammys and Australian based brand A-D-Atelier launched their Capsule II Collection .

December
Rounding off the year could only really be carried out by two brands who dominated the year; Atsuko Kudo who was worn by M unroe Bergdorf at the Beyonce RENAISSANCE Premiere , Charli Howard at the British Fashion Awards , W Series driver and motorsport pundit Naomi Schiff at the premiere of the Ferrari movie and Janhvi Kapoor and Avellano who continued with Sabrina Sato presenting at the Brazilian eSports Awards and Noah Cyrus in MARVIN Magazine .
