Each year the Festival de Cannes International film festival brings together the cream of the movie and glamour industries for the annual prestigious gathering on the French Riviera, and this year there was a new entry for the most standout latex outfit thanks to an Italian designer.

Over the years we’ve seen highly respected latex designers such as Avellano being featured, and who can forget the time Natasha Poonawalla wore Atsuko Kudo during the ten day festival.

And whilst there may have been an embargo on risqué outfits at this years film festival , who says latex clothing at Cannes can’t be conservative?

Elisa Sottocorno , founder and creative director of Milan based boutique Belarex , certainly thinks so. Attending the premiere of the new Jodie Foster and Daniel Auteuil movie, Vie privée (A Private Life), Sottocorno graced the red carpet wearing a sublime pencil skirt from her brand.

Wearing a longer length version of the designers L.A. Pencil Skirt , the sleek form-fitting ankle length skirt, which was made from all black latex, showed off Elisa’s svelte figure and oozed both elegance and finesse. Included belt buckles and a matching belt further highlighted the fashion moguls style with a daring edge which looked totally at home amongst the glitz and glamour of the event.

I’ve been wearing latex clothing for nearly five years. Incorporating everything from dresses to leggings, tops and bodysuits into outfits which include this unique fabric.

The most common question I always get asked is, “What does it feel like?” Firstly, latex clothing feels incredible. I feel empowered and sexy, and some of the shiny garments definitely make me feel like a superhero, giving off total indulgence vibes!

And who wouldn’t want to feel like that, right!

Whether your curvaceous and voluptuous, or svelte and toned, latex clothing enhances your natural curves. I’ve only ever received positive comments from people when I wear the material in public – whether it’s a quick dash to the shops wearing a shiny bodysuit and jeans, or a night out on the town in a full-length thigh-high split latex gown and heels, folks only ever compliment the allure of latex.

But isn’t latex clothing difficult to put on? Sure, it can be but with a little practice and knowledge. Latex clothing often has to be ‘rolled’ along your body. Reputable designers and brands will often include latex care and wear guides, and dressing aid from brands such as beGLOSS and Vivishine are most definitely your friends. For additional advice, tips and tricks, the latex community is most definitely one of the most welcoming communities there is. And if you want one-to-one advice there are a huge number of retail latex clothing stores where staff will always be happy to provide guidance.

And what about the perception that latex fashion is tight and restrictive? In some cases that can be true (for a number of people this is the main appeal of the material) but it can easily be just as comfortable. Skirts, sleeveless bodysuits with rear zippers, tube tops and summer dresses can all be purchased in loose fitting styles and cuts, perfect for the summer months ahead.

And for the ultimate showstopper there’s always the elegance of a full-length latex gown! Who says latex fashion can’t be accessible!

With a little thought, and choosing the right latex wardrobe staples, latex fashion can easily be worn every day. There really is no feeling like pairing a set of latex leggings with a nice comfy oversized jumper (absolutely perfect for that weekend shopping trip to the mall), or super cute skater skirt with an even cuter vest top. Don’t let those nearsyarrs make you believe otherwise!

It’s easy to put on and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

YouTuber LittleFitDevil showcases a huge haul of latex clothing from Ukrainian designer Elin Harness , and the results are incredible.

Elin Harness is a Ukrainian-based business and designer that is passionate about developing high-quality clothes to enjoy and make life more ‘interesting’. Their latex line includes a variety of latex accessories, bodysuits, lingerie, dresses, leggings, skirts, stockings, and tops that may be combined with other latex garments or traditional fabrics to create the ideal costume.

In the video by LittleFitDevil , the YouTuber, whose actual name is Carla Outes, reveals an incredible collection of latex clothes from the Ukrainian firm, taking viewers through a detailed evaluation of each item in turn.

Throughout the latex try-on haul, LittleFitDevil showcases a knee-length long sleeve black latex dress which features a full-length rear zipper along with fun and flirty zippers across the chest! The second sublime selection, a unique short latex overalls design which features front zip buckles, which the YouTuber perfectly describes as being ideal for attending events such as music concerts, before moving onto a two piece latex top and shorts with exposed shoulders and a high neckline. The distinctive addition to this top? Exterior piercings and corset style lacing across both garments.

There’s no doubt that LittleFitDevil clearly saves the best Elin Harness design for last – an all black latex bikini set underwired with a high neckline and details including clasps across both the bikini top and shorts. This just has to be seen!
